As I pulled my recipe binder out of my pantry tonight I came across these CDs hiding on the shelf in the back corner.
I was instantly flooded with memories from 5 1/2 years ago, when this CD of 110 Silly Songs was the sound track to my life.

My heart swelled as I remembered that time in my life when I was a young new mom of a one year old and a brand new baby. Many days I would find myself with nothing to do and nowhere to go and so for the umpteenth time I would turn on these silly songs and we would sing and we would dance.

My days are different now. Rarely does a day go by when I don't have somewhere to go or something pressing to do. My babies have been replaced with kids. And our Silly Songs have been swapped for High School Musical and MP3 players.

And tonight as I ponder on those days gone by, I can't believe that I ever wished for them to be over. There were days that I longed for more to do than just sing and dance to silly songs.

And now, that wish has come true.
My days are filled and my calendar is cramped and if I don't write it down it doesn't get done.
And wouldn't you know it, I'm sure wishing for a day of nothing to do but sing a silly song or two. Or 110!

You said it perfectly. I have similar memories...

It is weird that this summer I will have a 13 year old and a 1 year old. Bizarre...

Enough about me, though...;)

i hear people say this, but i don't feel it. yes, i miss the sweetness of babies and toddlers, but i would take my almost 12, 8 and almost 7 year olds any day of the week. these are the times i will look back on with nostalgia.

That is the way your life will be from now on - until all the kids are out of school! But, sing the silly songs as much as you can! And, be sure to bring them to Boise with you! All the little ones will like dancing to them!
