Dear Kendon,

I am so glad that you are feeling better. I pray it stays that way. I hope you feel the tonsillectomy was worth it and I cross my fingers that strep throat four times in one year will be a thing of the past!

You were an amazing patient. Your dad asked on Sunday if you'd been grouchy. I was pleased to tell him, "not once!" Even though you had every right to feel grumpy and cross, I appreciate that you weren't.

Look Sirri, Daddy had an IV too.
Kendon made sure we took this shot to show Sirri.

I'm sorry for all the times that I have told you what a dramatic sick person you are. (Though you're not alone. I think most men are. So, you come by it naturally!) But, really. I'm sorry. Your throat really looked like it hurt this week and some whining would have been understandable. But, you were tough. Tougher than I would have been, I'm sure.

I was not too thrilled to have someone in the hospital again so soon.

This last week, having you out of commission, has really reminded me what a great partner I have in you! They always say, "you never know what you have until it's gone." This week wore me out. Trying to do by myself what two of us normally do together was a great testament to what I really have. I appreciate all that you do for me, the kids and around the house. You are one in a million and I'm proud to call you mine!

Meg loved getting lots of cuddle time with Daddy!

I hope that every day you feel better and better.

Love always,
in sickness and in health,

me.

Poor Kendon! I so remember the two weeks after my tonsilectomy. Misery. But I can promise you this: It will be soooooo worth it. I have never had strep since. Years later, I say it's the best thing I ever did!

Ugh. My son had to have his out at age five. It was HORRIBLE. I felt so bad for him, and it lasted for a long time.

Wow, you guys have been through so much. I'm impressed with your faith and how brave you always are during adversity. I'd just sit in a corner and cry. Good luck with everything.

P.S. I can't believe how big your kiddos are getting. There are so cute!

Hi Kendon and Lisa!
Hey! We didn't even know you were going to have your tonsils out! You didn't say anything to us you Pill! Glad it is all done and we are sure you will feel much better!! Grandma had hers out when I was pregnant with Penny! I was four months along. The Dr. told me "nothing" would bother the pregnancy if the seed was planted right! Guess it was!! The pictures were all so cute!!
Lisa, you are a jewel!!
We love all of you!

Kendon is so sweet to have an IV picture taken just for Sirri ☺!

As mentioned before...I had my tonsils out at age 35 because of repeated bouts of strep and I thought it was gonna do me in. Kendon is brave.

Lisa-Marie...you, my dear are an amazing person. I truly mean that. Your posts always express your love and your humility so beautifully.

Men really are babies, just with beards.

That sucks that you were in the hospital AGAIN, can you write it off as a second, vacation home? Since I am sure it was so fun and relaxing!

Isn't it funny when you go to the hospital, you just keep going? Luckily, it was just a tonsilectomy, but still. The year John got cancer, his mom got a brain tumor and Levi had to get tubes TWICE. I felt like I lived at the hospital!

I've been behind on your blog, but I'm officially caught up. It still makes me so happy to see Sirri doing so well. I'm so thankful!

And I just did applesauce today. 12quarts. I'm doing more in a couple of weeks. 12 quarts made a huge mess. I can't imagine the mess in YOUR kitchen with how much work you did. You must be exhausted. My applesauce post is coming SOON.
