Question: What do you get when you leave your hubby home for five days with the kids while you play in California?

Answer:
Very jealous girlfriends!

Last night we had a Relief Society Scrapbooking night. Besides eating LOTS of yummy food and singing and dancing to great music like, "it's getting got in here..." and "nasty boys," (we might get ourselves kicked out of the group, Jaci) I was the recipient of much praise of my dear husband.

My girlfriends were all amazed that:

Not only was Kendon AT church on Sunday, but the kids were dressed in clean, matching clothes, their hair was done and they were welled mannered through Sacrament.

Not only was the house still standing when I returned home, but the bathroom had been cleaned, the floors mopped and the carpet vacuumed.

Not only were the kids happy to be with their dad, but he was happy to be with them.

Not only did he feed the kids but he actually made french toast, and breakfast burritos, whereas when mommy is home they get cold cereal for breakfast.

Not only did he make sure to call me every night before the kids went to bed, but his spirits were so high every time I did talk to him, I knew that he was actually having a good time.

Not only did he "let me go," but he did it willingly and truly hoped that I would have a good time AND he'll let me go again sometime!!!!

I know that I am so blessed to have the supportive husband that I do. I love him and am so appreciative of all that he does.

I love you babe!

HOLY COW! LOOK at the size of that Bears HEAD!!? --- ok, Holy Bear!

I can't believe I'm the first one to make a comment! -- Yahoo! :o>
Anyways, I can relate to the Awesome hubby thing! I know & my whole family knows (including my mom!) that out of all the son-in-laws, Tom is the one that "does it all!" he even attempted to put Asha's hair in pigtails to go to a B-day party one day... I don't remember where I was. It looked pretty good, a little crooked, but good. I think he likes fixing her hair, because he doesn't have any!
Anyways, I feel & know that I'm lucky just like you! -- Older men (husbands) are a good thing.... most of the time! lol

My husband would have done all those things except Hair, Breakfast burritos, mopping the floor and vaccuming. Does that still count?

The picture of him with the bear? YOWZA! Must show MY hubby that one!

What a great guy for a great girl. The fact that he is so great speaks volumes about the kind of person you are. Glad you had a good trip and that your family survived as well.

WAIT! You have to explain the bear picture. That freaked me out. Did he hunt that thing???? I am so impressed with his hunting skills and his skills of caring for the kids and home while you were away. That is the best best best.

There isn't anything like a little refocus/rejuvination for a great mom and wife! You deserved a girl's get away!

Who is the other woman in that picture of him?

No wonder your hubby can manage a weekend at home with the kids - HE WRESTLES BEARS TO THE GROUND WITH HIS BARE HANDS. He is superman. Keep him.

I love REAL men who can hold down the fort while we play. And, in your case, wrestle bears.

I've seen your comments on Stie's and Bridget's blogs but just linked over now that I know you love Les Miz the book too. Love that one!

Hi--Katie and Aunt Penny here. Neither of us had checked in a while so decided to visit. Katie reads this all the time and is just learning to post comments so you'll be hearing from her! Your stories are so fun as usual. I love how you let your kids be kids. You do have a great husband, but I have to say I think mine would give him some stiff competition and Katie's, too. Matt has been a champ with little Nathan. We look forward to seeing Kim, Sarah, Aunt Pam, and Aunt Patty on Thursday . . . sure wish you could come, too!

Hugs to you all. Aunt Penny and Katie

Having a hands-on papa and husband is one of the greatest gifts in the world! And having a mama break is even greater. :-)
