I enjoy cooking. I enjoy menu planning. I enjoy serving my family well rounded meals. I do. Honestly I do.
But sometimes, we have days like these:
I've been cleaning the house all day, and I really don't want to mess it up for dinner,
so it's a pizza night.
OR
We just spent $300 on groceries, which is a ton of work, I'm not cooking any of it now, who wants a corn dog?
OR
Cheese Tortilla's for everyone since Mommy is tired and Daddy isn't home.
You get the idea. Fast, easy, high in fat, absolutely no nutritional value, oh so yummy meals! I'm assuming all families have their favorites and enjoy their fair share of these meals.
It's not just me, right? Right?!?!
Well, since I've been doing the Biggest Loser Challenge, I've been trying to eliminate these meals for obvious reasons. And I must say, I won't miss cheese tortillas, and I'll only sorta miss frozen pizza (kinda a favorite of mine!) but let me tell you....
Giving up CHILI MAC, just might kill me!
Chili mac? You ask.
Yes! Chili Mac.
1 Box Macaroni and Cheese
1 Can Nalley's Chili
1 Can Corn
=
YUMMO!
I really hope Christie won't take my Blog Recipe Contest prize away after sharing that "recipe"
Now, before you go making judgments, let me tell you what my family thinks of Chili Mac.
Connor:
"AWWWWWWWESOME!"
Sirri:
"It's my favorite."
Notice, her Chili Mac is scarfed down before her dad could even finish his.
Kendon:
"I really like it and could seriously eat it 1 or 2 times a week."
Me:
One night after scrapbooking Kendon asked if I had a good time. My reply;
"It was tons of fun, but I was kinda sad the whole time knowing I missed Chili Mac for dinner."
Meg:
A picture is worth a thousand words.
So, next time you need a quick go to meal, might I recommend....
CHILI MAC!
Try it. You just might like it!
P.S. On a side note...Did you notice the totally poopy, fuzzy, terrible pictures? How could you miss them?
Well, my new camera came and you can kiss crappy pictures goodbye! Thank heavens!
so it's a pizza night.

I've never had chili mac, but I have my own source of really easy bad food. Mostly it's called Taco Bell...and don't even start eating their Apple Empinadas. They must have some form of crack in them. Seriously...don't start.
Chili mac - sounds delicious - that's how you know it can't be good for you!! It is hard to give up the good stuff!
you can still have it occasionally, but from the looks of it i don't know why you would want to...all i want today is candy...can you guess what kind? i guess we all have our vices!
Why hasn't Martha done a show about this winner?
I LOVE chili mac too! Tammy Howard introduced me to this yummy stuff! I love the picture of Meg...I laughed out loud!
Can't you have just a tiny bit?
Any diet should accomodate a little chili mac now and again right? I wish you could plan and cook my meals. I HATE that task. I'd do laundry over cooking any day. Even scrubbing toilets.
OH the picture of Meg is priceless. I have to admit I have never tried chili mac but I KNOW my husband would love it so much! Maybe I'll make it for him someday. Good job giving up the junk.. it is so hard!
I am adding this to my list of comfort foods :)
It came with such great endorsements, especially because those pictures are truly worth 1000 words!
chili mac for dinner it is!
thanks for the idea
ha
Oh, Meggers, you must love Mommy's cooking!!! That is the cutest picture even though Grandma can't see your beautiful face! One month from today you will all be at Grandma's house. I can't wait for you all to meet Sarah Jane! I love you! Grandma
I didn't actually join WW either, I just bought the whole kit off of ebay...isn't that terrible? (so any hints to figuring this out, are appreciated!) I also need a plan to follow, so I'm hoping I can set my mind to this and finally achieve my goals! Thanks for your encouragement! Your awesome!
Consider your prize revoked for the Chili Mac. Is it just me, or does the very idea sound wrong?
I still love you though. You and your delicious salsa chicken burritos. Mmmmmmm.
I was introduced to chili mac in college. I haven't had it for years, but I remember loving it. The recipe I had had a container of cottage cheese in it too. You should try it some time when you want to spice things up!
I don't like the corn part...but maybe the rest would be ok. Not sure. But when I'm desperate, I will try.
Cute pictures, none the less. A new camera? I'm jealous. I never have great photographs.
I love chili mac too! But with corn? I've never tried that.
Lisa, this is why you have to give yourself a DAY so that you can splurge all you want. You'll still lose weight. I promise. It helps you not sabatoge during the week.
