Room Swap

BEFORE:
  • 1 Very unromantic Bedroom
  • 3 beds
  • Tons of terribly painted forest green trim (thx to some renters many years ago while Kendon was a bachelor.)
  • 2 Ugly Wildlife Curtains
  • 7 1/2 years I lived with those curtains.
  • 1 slap upside my head for not getting rid of the curtains sooner.
  • 1 hubby who wishes I would quit ranting about the curtains.
  • 16 square feet of green "antique" carpet.
  • Piles of stuff that needed a home besides our dumping ground of a room.
  • 1 black metal canopy bed we bought for cheap when we were first married.
  • Some major need for a change!!!!
DURING:
  • 2 gallons of white paint
  • 1 gallon of Robin Egg blue
  • Too many hours poor Meg was trapped in her crib.
  • 1 thankful Mommy that she was so cooperative.
  • 1 HUGE mess.
  • A very crowded living room/storage unit for too many days.
  • 3 GREAT big thank yous to our lifesavers; Jaci,Heidi and Stacey for helping with the kids.
  • 2 tired backs
  • Lots of blasting 80's tunes.
  • 1 cute room.
AFTER:
  • 2 comforters to finish.
  • Some decorations to hang.
  • 3 valances to sew.
  • No idea when it will be done.
  • Zippo pictures until it is!!!

But I will give you a sneak peek at what our room will look like. It's on the agenda to do next. Soon. Hopefully.

I would have totally taken Meg for three days if I lived there!

Sirri....you are A. DORABLE!!! Good job, kindergarten is going to be so fun for you, I can't wait to hear about it!

Conner...your job is to find the tomato worms! My boys loved running over them with their bikes. EWWWWW gross!!!!

Don't you just LoVe "change" then when it happens, you say to yourself, I wish I would've done this a long time ago! Paint... really puts magic on the walls! I can't wait to see the "finished" pictures! Good Luck! ~ Have FuN!~
CuTe bed spread! I've done the kids' bedrooms before I've done "our" bedroom. (it's really suffering--total 90's bedspread with all the bathroom rugs to match the bedspread)

It was so much fun camping with the kiddos. You know Saturday mornings with my little ones in bed with me is my favorite time of all!! The stained glass windows are fabulous Lisa . . . you need to try and figure out a way to put up curtains and blinds so the windows show during the day! They look absolutely beautiful in the pictures. How about the blackout, pull down window shades. The old fasioned kind on the roller???????

P.S. Meggers, that picture of you standing up in your crib is to die for. I just want to hug you to pieces. Hurry up and come and see Grandma!!!

Hey! How many people have such beautiful stained glass windows in a bedroom window??!! They look so pretty with the white paint! We will be anxious to see the real thing when we stop in August! I love seeing Meg in the big crib!! I bet she is so excited!! She looks so darned cute! And, I am sure Sirri and Connor love having the bunk beds! You kids have done a great job!! Now, we will be anxious to see your room all completed! I know it all takes a lot of time - and money!!
Please give all three of the little ones hugs and kisses for us! And, tell Sirri her Grandpa gave Grandma Weldon a kiss from her!!! They sure had a good time while at your house!! We love all of you!!!!

Hip hip hooray for your new room!!!
It must be so worth all the trauma! If you can put up with those curtains for 7 1/2 years, I can put up with renting for at least 2 1/2 more years. (but don't tell kendon i said that. or phillip.) Way to paint. I can't wait to paint!

Good for you. I really need a new bedroom--not that I've ever actually had one. My sheets are so threadbare, they truly! rip somewhere every night.

Hi,

I am new to your blog. I left a comment before, but should have introduced myself, I guess. My name's Emily from WV! I am not stalking you, but have read a few posts and you are so funny and creative.

I just might have to check back for pictures. I am glad that your are getting a new bedroom!

WOW- Love the beadspread...can't wait to see the finished project, don't forget to post it. Are you going to sew it??? I started doing a bedspread for Jaidyn's twin bed (which she isn't in yet) about 3 years ago and you have totally inspired me to get a move on it. Can't wait to see it. I LOVE the color combination!!

I am crazy jealous you own a house to do what you want with...our house is government owned and no painting or nothing...SO JEALOUS. I love tha picture of MEG in her crib. I just want to kiss her adorable cheeks!!

I LOVE the chocolate and green spread! I too need to revamp my bedroom but have not the energy to start let alon finish it, so I will live vicariously through you. It looks great so far and can't wait to see the end result.

I will not post pictures until a project is completed either.

I'm very excited for you! I hope you didn't slap yourself too hard about the curtains.
