All I Need to Know...I'm Learning in Kindergarten.

I help every week in Sirri's classroom. I've learned a thing or two so far this year.

I've learned...that Sirri's a leader. This is what I was told the other day by Grandma Patsy, a helper in their room.

"Oh, you are Sirri's mom. We had a daughter just like her growing up. We used to call her the DIRECTOR! Just wait til she's thirteen."

I've learned...that her backpack never ends up on the hook, it's always laying on the floor.

I've learned...that Sirri views school as a social event.

I've learned...that Sirri has been eating breakfast at school even though her daddy makes her a nice meal every morning. (But apparently she throws most if not all of it away.)

I've learned...that her breakfast habit cost me $11.80. (I've spoken with the cafeteria ladies and she will no longer be eating breakfast!)

I've learned...Sirri doesn't wear her coat to recess.

I've learned...that kids are drawn to Sirri and love to be near her in the classroom and I think (but could be wrong) that Isaac has a crush on her!

I've learned...that the Beagley 3 watch out for Sirri at school and I appreciate it!

I've learned...that jumpropes make great horseys at recess.

I've learned... Sirri's growing up and there's not a darn thing I can do about it!

Every parent should have the opportunity to see their child in action at school. How illuminating!

I volunteer once a month in Hyrum's kindergarten class, and it's been so fun. I'm so glad to see that Hyrum isn't the only one not paying attention :)

Jax did the same thing to me with the whole breakfast thing!

He thought it was the coolest thing ever that he got 2 breakfasts!!

I had to break his happy bubble. :)

isn't it fun seeing your kids in a social setting? sometimes they are SO different than at home.

I TRY to get my kids to eat breakfast at school! No dishes!

I love volunteering in my kids' classrooms for the same reasons. It makes them so happy to have their mom there too. At least at this age. :)

I am jealous! I wish I could volunteer at Kindergarten! I don't know how to get my littlest guy taken care of when I go, and if I brought him it would be CRAZY.

So I'm going to plug in my kid's name in your post and maybe I learned a little too! =)

Sirri's a doll! I can't tell you how I wish I could be a fly on the wall in my kid's classes. Oh, how I wish. Letting go is so hard for me!

Hey, per your request, there is a belly shot on my blog today. :0)

I love how you called it, "her breakfast habit".

You have learned so much in Kindergarten! I am so proud of you ;)

I am having a hard time learning the last thing you mentioned. It is hard that there is nothing we can do about them growing up. I keep trying to stop my kids from growing up...they are very disobedient in that area.

You keep right on leading Sirri Marie. And the "Social Butterfly" . . . you come by that honestly!!! You are a little like your Mama, Aunt Kimmie and Aunt Cindy, and WOW, look what great ladies they are! I can't wait to come and go to school with you! I love you more! Grandma

Good for you, Sirri!!! We knew you were going to be a leader! I was surprised when Grandma and I visited your pre-school and you were not quite ready to lead - but here you are!! Mama, you shouldn't be so surprised by all those things! Like Grandma Bigelow said, "she is a chip off the three blocks!!" And, that is so great!!! Because, we love everyone of you!!!

I think the butterfly part of SIrri might be a little genetic?

She is adorable, isn't it funny when you get a glimpse into their "outside the home" life? You marvel and question at the same time..."Am I really raising that girl?" Oh the fun that is yet to come!!!

Oh my gosh, that breakfast issue is hilarious! I would DIE if I found out my kids were just going to school and filling up (or not) on food they didn't need! HA!!
