All is Well

Sirri 8/16/08

Kendon keeps reminding me that I have left you all hanging as to how Sirri is doing. I hope you have assumed that no news is good news, because in fact, that happens to be the case!

We had Sirri's full body scan on Thursday and it came back ALL CLEAR! She is cancer free. What a blessing and a comfort. We were able to come home on Thursday afternoon and haven't looked back much since.

Sirri is recovering extremely well. Her surgery "holes" and incisions are healing very nicely and don't cause her much pain at all any more. She tired very easily for the first few days and looked pretty pail but both her strength and color are coming back. She does "milk it" every once in a while if she needs a reason to get Connor in trouble. "Owwww. You hurt my owies, Connor." (When he didn't even touch her!) Or, "Connor, you have to be careful with me." Oh well. After all she has been through she can work the system for a few more days!

We can't begin to explain how thankful and blessed Kendon and I feel that this situation turned out the way that it did. Like Dr. Barnette said, "two months from now, this would have been a completely different story." We know that Heavenly Father was watching over and protecting our little family. We are so thankful for the peace that we were able to feel through this experience. We are so grateful for all the prayers that were said in our behalf. We know that we have been part of and witnessed a miracle.

I'm so glad to see that Sirri is back home and all is good. She looks so good in the picture I would not ever guess she was in the hospital. What a wonderful miracle!

That really is astounding how relatively easily you got through this, when, as he said, two months later would have changed everything so drastically. It really speaks to you about "someone" watching out for you!

I am so glad to know that Sirri is fine now. It was such a whirlwind; I'm glad it's basically over.

We certainly know that prayers work! And, so many were said for all of you! We have had so many calls from our friends wanting to know how Sirri is and how you were all doing! Thank goodness you took her in for her pre-school
checkup!!!! And, thank goodness for such a wonderful Dr.!!!
