How to Throw a Really Great Bike Rodeo, Birthday Party!!!

1. Send out picture post cards of your cute kids on their bikes. (OR, hand deliver, the day before. gulp!) Invite all your friends for Saturday the 26th and make sure they bring their bikes!

2. Hope that the church parking lot and pavilion won't be busy the day of your party. Luck out that it isn't!

3. Plan the party on a day when all your family will be in town. Extra adults to help with all the extra hooligans is appreciated! Also, be thankful for great friends who stay to help as well. They can help cover Grandpa, just in case he needs a nap. Oh, and don't forget, sisters and a cute baby ALWAYS makes things a bit more fun.
4. Create a bike obstacle course. Sidewalk chalk makes it easy, but a creative little sister makes it cute! It's fun to include water balloon basketball.
5. Make license plates to go on your bikes and noise clackers for the spokes.
6. Line every body and their bikes up for the course. On your mark, get set....
7. GO!
8. Have lots of helpers for opening presents!

9. Make a Mermaid cake AND a tractor cake. So, even though you vowed you would never make your kids share a birthday party, you can feel okay about it cause at least they each got their own cake!
10. Decide the party was a success by looking at these two smiling faces....

LOVE the cakes! And the cupcakes from the previous post.

My son wants me to do a Lego cake for his bday.

Any ideas??? I can make a Lego block cake, but it looks kinda boring...

Remind me next time not to ASK what he wants!!! :)

You rock. Seriously.

Don't be mad. I was in Rexburg this weekend for Ed. Week. No time, though. I thought of you while I was there. I have an old roommate who I really should have called, but I just ran out of time.

The new temple is gorgeous, though!

What a fabulous idea for a birthday party!!!

I love the decorations for the bikes. How did you make the noise clackers for the spokes? And where did you attach the license plates? Seriously, SO CREATIVE!
