The first day of Kindergarten!
August 20, 2008
Sirri and I made her teacher these dipped fortune cookies. They turned out really cute and were yummy too.
And the backpack fairy came to our house. She blinged up Sirri's backpack a bit and left her a princess water bottle and a new pencil box!

After school we had a back to school party! We invited lots of kiddos, played in the water, decorated cupcakes and ate snow cones! It was a great end to a special day! (One mom even told me, "Jake could have cared less about today being the first day of school. He was just excited about the party afterwards!!!!")

Oh, you ROCK! I love all those ideas. Isn't back to school FUN!? I just loved doing the party and the gifts. It just made everything so special.
I love all that you did and that you were able to let Sirri go after her rough summer. That would have been so hard for me. Yeah, you!!
PS: LOVE the backpack. Big fan of all things blinged, here.

So glad you survived! Sirri is adorable.
She looks so, so, cute! I love all of the pictures...especially the one with her looking over at you while sitting on the bus. Her eyes are just beautiful.
What do you dip the fortune cookies in...is it that white almond bark? Those are just adorable!
She looks cute in her new school clothes!! Can you even believe that we have children old enough to go to school. Wow, it feels like yesterday that we were in school together!!

Wow! What a fun first day of school. Looks like Grandma missed out on a fun party! I must say, it gives my heart a little tug to see you sitting at a school desk! And I love the blinged up back pack! You have quite the Mommy Sirri! I love you all!

It's always hard to let your kids go ALL by themsleves into this scary world that we live in now... you're a great parent/mom! You've had to deal with a lot this past month... cancer in one of you babies--now letting her go into this world. You GO GirL! -- stay strong.
LoVa Ya!
Love, love love the sparkle!! I never thought of all this fun back to school or first day of school stuff. I am filing all the ideas away for my future grandchildren! Sirri is adorable!!
Thanks for clarifying that you weren't the only psycho mom. I was worried.
Honey, you are one in a million! What a fun thing to do - a "Back to School Party!" You are the best!!! And, your little ones are always going to know that! I hope one day, you can get back into the teaching profession! We need teachers like you so bad!!! We know you will always be a great Mother! You sure had a great teacher!! I might be just a little predjudice!!!!
Love you!
It's been so fun for me to read through all these first day of school posts etc. They are such BIG moments for these LITTLE people of ours (and for us as moms). I have to round up the pics I took of my girls on their first days in my camera and get them on our blog too. Soon I'm sure. :)
